Tensile Construction II
Master's Course Architecture, optional module 4/5
Cable structures and membrane structures are a lightweight, far spanning tensile structures. This typology is characterized by its lightweight and flexibility. Main topics of the seminar are design concepts based on morphology principles, basic geometric shapes, stabilization of membrane surfaces, model construction principles, general dimensioning, advanced membrane materials, membrane cutting and -confectioning, the planning and development of details, finishing and assembly process. The aim of the seminar is to provide an independent design expertise based on the design and morphology methods and an overview on the holistic assessment of constructive cable- and membrane structures.
