Kevin is a multi-disciplinary researcher whose interests lie at the intersection of architectural design, mechanical engineering, and fabrication. 


He is a research associate at RWTH Aachen University, working at the Chair of Structures and Structural Design. Before this, he was a visiting scholar in the Building Technology Lab at MIT, Massachusetts, and a consultant designer for sculpture design and fabrication in Madrid and New York. He holds a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the University of Alcala, Madrid. He is a member of the Chamber of Architects of Madrid, Spain, where he does his architectural practice.


His research interests include the automation of the design and the analysis of singular structures, shell constructions, the design of mobile transformable systems, such as folding structures, and robotic manufacturing processes.


He is currently working on his doctoral thesis on the simulation of natural topological structures through the guidance of growth trajectories, using living trees and their sequential mechanical growth as a case study. The research objective is to establish a natural-digital understanding and strategy to design efficient timber structures.
