Nursery for the Township Hamlet Creche awarded as one of the 23 best constructions in/from Germany
The German Architecture Yearbook is an annual elementary overview of current German architecture inland and abroad. Since 2007, the buildings featured in the Yearbook are presented in an exhibition with models and photos, with a focus on the winner of the DAM price.
In the spring of 2010, the nursery for 80 children of a Township in Prince Alfred Hamlet was designed, planned and built by students of the Faculty of Architecture RWTH Aachen University as part of their studies.
It is the third project in a series of buildings that has been created in a structurally weak region in South Africa.
