Dipl.-Ing. Christa Reicher has been University Professor for Urban Design and head of the Institute for Urban Design at the RWTH Faculty of Architecture since October 2018. Her research focuses on qualification strategies, sustainable urban development, and the design of neighborhoods, cities, regions, and metropolises.

1987 to 1990 Work in national and international planning offices
1990 to 1996 Research Assistant at the Chair of Urban and Rural Design, RWTH
1993 Establishment of a planning office with Dipl.-Ing. Joachim Haase in Aachen - RHA Office Aachen reicher haase associierte GmbH. It was later awarded first prize in the international competition for the RWTH Campus Melaten and the subsequent urban land use and design planning.
1996 to 1998 Lecturer for Urban Renewal at RWTH and for Urban Design at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences and Trier University of Applied Sciences

1998 to 2002

Professor for Urban Planning and Design at Bochum University of Applied Sciences, Department of Architecture
2002 to 2018 Head of the Department of Urban Development and Urban Land Use Planning at TU Dortmund University, School of Spatial Planning
